THE CARE AND MAINTENANCE OF ALUMINIUM
The life of an anodised, powder coated or painted finish can be greatly enhanced if a regular maintenance program is adopted. Therewith, some useful guidelines for the protection of Aluminium Finishes. |

1. Protect exposed aluminium surfaces until all wet trades have been completed.
2. Any cement or acid should be removed as soon as pratical.
3. When cleaning, wash down all surfaces with a neutral detergent and rinse thoroughly.
4. Remove awkward deposits on ANODISED aluminium, with a suitable nylon abrasive cleaning pad or brush, plus neutral detergent, and then rinse.
5. Remove awkward deposits on POWDER COATED aluminium, with a suitable soft cloth, plus a neutral detergent, and then rinse.

1. Wire brushes, steel wool, emercy paper are NOT recommended under any circumstances.
2. Avoid mechanical damage from scaffolding, bad handling ,etc.
3. Do not allow cleaning with pool acid on anodised finishes.
4. Do not allow cleaning with abrasive pads on powder coated surfaces.
5. Do not allow mortar-cleaning chemicals to come into contact with powder coated and anodised surfaces.
6. Do not allow strong alkalis such as caustic soda, lime, etc to come into contact with aluminium. |
